Those wishing to experience the real Tibetan New Year must not miss this 11-day program. The participants will celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year, in Dharamsala. The celebrations continue for three days. On this occasion Tibetans put on their best traditional attire and a series of customary gatherings and rituals take place. One can not only gain a representative glimpse of the Tibetan culture but also actually experience it. There are occasions both for riotous gaiety and pious solemnity. Joyous greetings of Tashi Delek rent the air wherever one goes especially on the first day. The day is also an occasion for the people to wish Tashi Delek to H.H. the Dalai Lama. Tibetan schools and Institutions turn out in colorful traditional dresses to participate in public programs. On the 4th day we go to Tso Pema (Lake Riwalsa), one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Tibetan Buddhists. Tso Pema itself is a lake of Lotus flowers amidst high hills and is surrounded by sacred institutions. The place also abounds in caves where Tibetan Buddhists immediate. Tibetan Buddhists believe that one of the eight manifestations of Guru Padmasambhava, who spread Buddhism in Tibet, was born in a lotus of this lake. From Tso Pema in northern India we move right down to western India to experience the warmer weather there. We spend the last four days relaxing and enjoying on a spectacular beach of India.

06/02/2000 1st day of the year.New year ceremony.
07/02/2000 Audience with His Holiness The Dalai Lama.
08/02/2000 Attend prayer flag ceremony at Lingkhor.
09/02/2000 We leave for Tsopema
10/02/2000 Visit the holy lake and monastery.
11/02/2000 Tsopema to Delhi we drive.
12/02/2000 Flight to Bombay & then to Kashid Beach resort.
13 to 16 Feb Morning at Kashid beach.
16/02/2000 Bombay sight seeing. Evening to Bombay International Airport for return flight to your country.
